Our Services

Elsy is a registered NDIS disability support and care provider in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie New South Wales.

Elsy provides Supported Independent Living or Community Supports.

Supported Independent Living

Supported Independent Living is shared residential support. This is typically 24×7 care and support in a residential house either on a 1:1, 1:2 or 1:3 basis. This is where one support worker either looks after a single client (1:1), a pair of clients (1:2) or 3 clients (1:3).

The type of staffing you will be provided will be determined by your NDIS care plan and this will be based on a needs assessment.

All of our supported independent living properties are new, spacious and well furnished. All are 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 reception rooms and level access with large garden. A support worker has a single bedroom and separate bathroom and our clients have a spacious bedroom, with a shared bathroom unless care is in a 1:1 package.

Each of our supported independent living properties has a dedicated staffing team so there is detailed client and staff matching, and a consistency of care.  Each supported independent living property also has a dedicated team leader to oversee care, medications management, team training and support plans/ goal setting.

All of our Supported Independent Living clients have access to our wheelchair adapted transport – the Elsy bus, and our day programme hub – The Sixth Street Cafe, in boolaroo.

You can find more about our hub by following this link. Sixth Street Café » Elsy

Respite Care

For clients transitioning from living at home with parents or other stakeholders, our short term accommodation and respite care options are a good way to experience our SIL homes on a short term basis to trial the experience and living with particular house mates. We can often commence this trial process through the NDIS plan review phase not least as a means of gathering data for a full SIL NDIS plan application.

Community Support

Our excellent staff team, The Elsy Family, is highly experienced and highly trained. They are also available to provide community support – this is 1:1 support for travel and activities in the community, or in-home care. You can expect the same attention to care, individualised care plans, and care management as our clients receive in supported living. Community Support Clients have access to our hub and our wheelchair adapted bus, although there is a minimum service booking of 3hrs care for the mobility adapted bus.

Please take a look  at our Community Supports at Elsy page.
